Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use Clipboard History Pro, including people who use a keyboard only, a screen reader or magnification. This page says what works today, what we have not tested, and the gaps we know about.
Where we are
- Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
- We have not had an independent accessibility audit. We do not claim that the extension or this website conforms to WCAG today.
- We do not have a VPAT (Accessibility Conformance Report) yet. If your district needs one, email us.
- This statement comes from a review of the extension's source code, not from testing with assistive technology.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Action | Keys | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Open the extension | No default. Set one at chrome://extensions/shortcuts ("Activate the extension"). | Free |
| Paste favorite 1, 2 or 3 | Shift + Alt + 1 / 2 / 3 (change at chrome://extensions/shortcuts) | Pro |
| Expand a text shortcut | Type the shortcut's keyword in a text field | Free (5 shortcuts), Pro (unlimited) |
| Copy all checked items as one | Ctrl + C (Cmd + C on Mac) in the extension window, when items are checked and no text is selected | Free |
| Open the page widget, lock now, open floating mode | No default. Set them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. | Pro |
| Paste a recent or favorite item from the right-click menu | Open the page's context menu (Shift + F10 or the menu key), then use the arrow keys | Free |
On a Chromebook, ChromeOS's own clipboard menu (Search + V) still works alongside the extension.
What works today
- The search box and the buttons in the extension window (delete, favorite, edit) are standard form controls. You can reach them with Tab.
- Some icon buttons have text labels for screen readers. Others have only a tooltip.
- The extension follows your system's light or dark theme. You can also choose light or dark in the settings.
- Text shortcuts and favorite shortcuts let you insert saved text without using a mouse.
Known gaps
- Choosing an item from the history list needs a mouse or touch. List items are not keyboard-focusable, and there is no arrow-key navigation. Keyboard workarounds: favorite shortcuts, text shortcuts and the right-click menu.
- Not every icon-only button has an accessible name.
- We have not tested with screen readers (ChromeVox, NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver).
- We have not measured color contrast across the extension.
- The extension window has a fixed size set by the browser. Text size inside it does not follow every browser zoom setting.
- This website has not been audited. The support chat widget comes from a third party (Help Scout), and we do not control its accessibility.
What we plan to do next
- Make history items keyboard-focusable, with arrow-key navigation and Enter to copy.
- Give every icon button an accessible name.
- Test the extension with ChromeVox on a Chromebook and with NVDA on Windows.
- Run an automated check on the extension window and the main website pages.
