From Frustration to Flow: Mark Entrekin on Conquering Chaos with Clipboard History Pro
Mark Entrekin, a professional speaker, coach, and consultant, spends his days helping leaders build "human bridges" to move from conflict to connection. But with a busy practice built on communication, from podcasts and newsletters to client follow-ups, how does he manage the immense amount of information he shares daily without getting bogged down by repetitive tasks? The answer lies not in a complex suite of enterprise software, but in a simple, powerful tool that has become the cornerstone of his workflow. In this interview, Mark shares how Clipboard History Pro helps him conquer frustration, save countless hours, and stay focused on what truly matters: his clients.
Before diving into the interview, here are three tips for Pro’s that Mark mentions:
- Build a "Rapid Response" Library with Favorites (saves hours every day)
- Use History as Your "Conversation Memory"
- Speed-Fill Repetitive Forms[a]
Myles Marino: To start, can you tell me a little bit about your business?
Mark Entrekin: I have a speaking, coaching, and consulting firm that helps people get beyond the negativities they run into daily. I help leaders move from conflict and chaos to connection using my proven seven-step "Achieving Unity Success Formula." It’s a roadmap that transforms relationships, personally and professionally. I build human bridges to help people get from where they are to where they want to be, no matter how large the gap might be.

Myles: Without giving away your secret sauce, can you tell me a little about how you got started and developed the formulas you use?
Mark: It started around 2012 and has grown dramatically, especially in the last two years because of the prevalent issues with anger in the world. I began creating acronyms to help people relieve themselves from these troubles and think differently. A lot of times, that anger is nothing more than frustration. As I sometimes joke, we just say, "What the frustration!" Anger is simply 'Actions Not Gaining Effective Results.' That’s where frustration leads us, and that’s what I help people move away from.

Myles: I imagine you use many tools to run your business and manage your time with clients. Can you walk us through the tools you find most useful?
Mark: A project management system is one of the biggest tools I use. I started with Microsoft Project and now use Trello or Asana. But Clipboard History Pro is what truly drives my productivity. When I'm writing, I often know I'll need a piece of text again later. I just highlight and copy it, and with Clipboard History Pro, I can easily grab it later. It integrates with all the tools I use (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Asana) and keeps that information for me. We have so much going through our minds that we forget quickly. Clipboard History Pro is my driver to remember things I know are important and will need later.

Myles: Was there a particular incident that made you seek out a clipboard manager?
Mark: Yes, easily. I work a lot with messaging on platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn, which often have character limits. I found myself typing similar, but not identical, messages repeatedly. In the old days, I would copy the text, paste it into a Word document, make changes, and then copy it back. I’d often lose the text or forget what I had said in previous messages. With Clipboard History Pro, I can find the history of what I've copied. If I copy each message, the history is there for me to go back to and say, "Oh, that's what I said." Then I can make changes. It makes it so easy to remember things and go back to previous thoughts when it's so easy to forget.
Myles: How long have you been using Clipboard History Pro?
Mark: I think about a year.
Myles: I recall we first connected because of a bug that significantly affected your experience. Can you talk about how your workflow changed during the time the bug was present before it was fixed?
Mark: It was a drastic change. Suddenly, I lost access to all my saved links for my sites and landing pages that I frequently share. I had to go back and recreate them every time, which quadrupled the time it took to give people information. I had to create a Word document called 'info to copy' and remember to paste everything there. Since I work with a lot of information across multiple monitors, my frustration level went to the limits. Once you start using a tool like Clipboard History Pro, when it doesn't work, it puts huge hurdles in the middle of the road to progress. It was devastating.
Myles: I'd like to talk more about your journey with clipboard managers and the specific features you value. Was Clipboard History Pro the first one you tried, or did you experiment with others?
Mark: I didn’t even know tools like that existed for a while. Word has a clipboard history, but it doesn't work well and isn't well-organized. When I had the problem with Clipboard History Pro, I did search for others, and none of them measured up. I had to have something, so I tried several, but I always come back to Clipboard History Pro when it's available.
Myles: We have a lot of features and configurations. For you, what are the absolute must-have features?
Mark: The "Favorites" feature is one. I have several domains, my site, landing pages, my podcast, newsletter, and my course. To be able to just drop down Clipboard History Pro, see what I need, click it, and have it ready to paste is essential. Number one is my Calendly link. I have 15-minute, 30-minute, and 1-hour meeting options. When someone wants a meeting, I can just click it, paste it into the chat, and they can set up a meeting with me. This works across multiple chat platforms like LinkedIn and WhatsApp. Having that in my favorites saves a lot of time. I also have the sign-up for my newsletter, my contact page URL, my LinkedIn profile, my podcast, and my blog all saved. My upcoming course is out there too. Those are all right there and available in my favorites. And in my main history, there are 1,529 messages saved.
The basic clipboard history is also crucial. I think it saves a couple thousand items, so if I need to go back, I can. The search function is also key. With so many items, I need to be able to find things. I can just put in a word I remember, and it'll bring up a list of all the things I've copied previously.

Myles: If you were to recommend Clipboard History Pro to a friend, how would you describe it?
Mark: Whenever someone mentions they knew they had typed something earlier but can't find it, I just ask them, "Do you use Clipboard History Pro?" Most of them don't know about it. I tell them what I do and how easy it is to remember things they've done before. I point them in the right direction and give them the link. I've never seen anyone that wasn't happy using it.
Myles: Do you have any questions for us about the extension, our future plans, or any feature requests?
Mark: The best thing is letting us know what's coming. Sometimes updates remove a feature that was easy to use. By letting your users know what you plan on doing, we can give feedback. For example, if a change might affect our workflow, we can say, "Wait a minute, if you do that, how am I now going to be able to do this?" Just keep us up to date. We don't need a hard sell every time; just the bottom line of what you're doing and why.

Myles: Is there anything I should have asked to better understand how you use Clipboard History Pro?
Mark: I think a better explanation of some features, like shortcuts, with examples of how they work would be helpful. For instance, you helped me understand how shortcuts function. Also, for the Cloud Pro backup, it would be nice to have an automatic backup option. Anything that makes our day easier is valuable. A lot of us have a lot going on and want things short and quick. Get in, get out, get on with your life.
Myles: If you could put a message on a billboard for everyone reading this to see, what would it be?
Mark: Smile first. No matter what we're doing or what issues we come across, always smile first. On the business side, I work toward achieving unity. Everything we do depends on someone else. So, achieving unity by harnessing the power of encouraging, inspiring, and including others makes a huge difference. Encourage, Inspire, Include. I wish that billboard was everywhere.

Myles: Last question: Do you know anyone else we should speak to about Clipboard History Pro?
Mark: I think college students, especially graduate students. When they're writing papers and need to copy references and bibliographies, a tool as valuable as a clipboard history to remember what you've copied is so important. Once they start using it in college, they'll see the value. Also, businesses and corporations, and anyone who has to fill out forms repeatedly. Google helps, but there's so much information it doesn't keep up with. Clipboard History Pro helps you keep that information for later.
